I am available for temporary assignments as Manager or Director of IT
functions such as Data Centers, Production Support groups, Technical Services and Help Desks,

Network and System Operations.
I have over 14 years of management experience
in IT roles. I have exceptional communications, team-building, and leadership
skills. I believe "you only become successful by making those
around you successful". IT staff like working for me because I came up
through the ranks, I have spent long hours in cold computer rooms
building or trouble-shooting complex systems, and I can walk the talk. Plus I
enjoy sharing the information and war-stories I have gathered over 20 years.
Management
 | I have aligned IT functions with business
requirements, developed charge-back strategies, and built IT support organizations.
I have negotiated multi-million dollar
contracts for equipment and services. I can evaluate proposals from a
variety of perspectives, and I am comfortable in senior management meetings.
I have held senior management positions within the IT divisions of major Canadian financial
institutions, hospitals, and municipal governments. |
Team Building and Leadership
 | The uncertain period following a Corporate
merger can be a stressful period for staff of the new organization, but on
several occasions I have been able to take the members of formerly disparate
IT groups and help them become one of the most highly functional and
cohesive groups in the new corporation. How? By developing a vision and
being able to communicate it, by generating enthusiasm for my goals because
I sincerely believe in them, by leading from the front, by being able to
walk the talk, by being able to show up at night in data centers and
trouble-shoot the most complex problems, by successfully
acting as the final level of problem escalation, by sharing the knowledge
derived from 20+ years of experience,
and by demonstrating a commitment to my staff. |
