Management of IT infrastructure projects of all kinds.
I have over 10 years of IT Project Management
experience, and have been certified by the Project Management Institute (http://www.pmi.org)
as a Project
Management Professional (PMP) since 2000. I have a history of success in delivering
complicated IT projects.
Sample Projects:
Systems Development
 | I was the Project Manager in charge of software and
hardware on the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto's Corridor Traffic
Management System, a 5 year, $28,000,000 project. This project was delivered
on time and under budget, and represents one of the most significant
technical achievements in the Transportation Department's history. |
Corporate Merger
 | I was the technical architect and project manager of
an extremely complex and difficult technology migration resulting from the
merging of four hospitals. An entirely new IT back-end IT infrastructure was
required. The e-mail component alone was significant. Over 2000
clients were using six different e-mail products, multiple domain names
existed, multiple ISPs serviced the organization through multiple firewalls,
and new WAN links were required to link the formerly independent sites. This
migration had to be staged, the old e-mail addresses had to be supported
during and after the migration, the new e-mail client had to be installed on
over 2000 PCs, and mail had to be delivered throughout the process. The
project finished precisely on schedule. |
Small Business
 | I have designed and built complete
infrastructures for small businesses - everything from the internet access,
remote VPN setups, the Active Directory design and deployment, user and data
migrations, Exchange e-mail, Sharepoint intranet portals, etc. Using the
right products, such as entry-level server hardware from Dell, HP, or IBM,
and a software product suite like Microsoft's Small Business Server, a small
business can get a state-of-the-art infrastructure up and running in a short
time and for a very reasonable cost (see SOHO
for more information).. |
